How long does this take around Houston?
The roof work is days; the calendar is mostly paperwork gates, and those depend on your address. Sugar Land reviews plans through its online portal against current 2024 codes; Pearland runs a conventional city permit; much of Katy sits in unincorporated county territory with a different path entirely; and The Woodlands adds covenant review before work starts. Then every project waits on CenterPoint's (or TNMP's) permission-to-operate. Realistic total: several weeks from signed quote to power-on, driven by jurisdiction — we tell you your address's actual gates in the first conversation, then chase them daily.
Will the panels handle hurricane season?
This is a structural question, and it's why builder DNA matters. Attachment spacing and racking are engineered to the wind loads your jurisdiction requires, every mount hits framing (not just decking), and every penetration is flashed and sealed — the same details that decide whether a roof itself survives a storm. Panels properly through-bolted to structure routinely ride out hurricane winds; the failures you see in storm photos are almost always attachment shortcuts. We don't take them.

Should I replace my roof before going solar?
If your roof has less than 10–15 years of life left, usually yes — removing and reinstalling panels later typically costs thousands. We assess your roof honestly (we're builders — reroofing is our native trade) and can handle reroof + solar as one coordinated project.
What size system does my house need?
Size follows your actual usage, roof space, orientation, and shading — not square footage. We design from 12 months of utility bills. Typical U.S. homes land between 6 and 12 kW, but the right answer is whatever your usage and roof support.
What brands do you install?
We design around proven, bankable equipment tiers rather than pushing one brand. Every quote lays out panel, inverter, and racking options with what you gain (and don't) at each price point. All manufacturer warranties in writing.
Do you handle permits and utility paperwork?
All of it — engineering, permits, interconnection, inspections. Permitting is where solar projects stall, and it's the part a construction company is built for.
