Where does Colony Solar install?

Katy
Three counties, one name. Whether your address is inside City of Katy limits or in unincorporated Harris or Fort Bend County changes who reviews your solar project — and most of "Katy" is outside city limits. Cinco Ranch, Cross Creek Ranch, Firethorne, Elyson and the rest, covered.
Sugar Land
One of the metro's most buttoned-up permitting cities — current 2024 building codes, online-only submittals, engineering stamps on larger systems — plus some of its most active HOAs. Both are manageable when your installer does this paperwork for a living.
The Woodlands
The metro's biggest solar plot twist: depending on your address, you're either with deregulated CenterPoint (shop your buyback plan) or regulated Entergy Texas (no shopping at all) — and the same quote can pencil differently on each. Add covenant review and real tree cover, and local knowledge stops being optional.
Pearland
Split between CenterPoint and TNMP utility territories — and TNMP addresses see fewer buyback plans and higher delivery charges, which changes which electricity plan actually pays. City permits, HOA reviews, and hurricane-season battery math, all covered.

Why "local" actually matters in Houston solar
Three things change from one address to the next here: the permitting authority (city, county, or neither), the utility (CenterPoint, TNMP, or Entergy — each with different interconnection and export economics), and the HOA review process. Texas law (Property Code §202.010) stops HOAs from banning solar, but they can still shape placement and appearance. A quote that ignores any of these is a quote that changes later. Ours don't.
